Air Pollution
A serious problem in Egypt. How serious?
- "More recently, EEAA [Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency] recently estimated that air pollution causes 25,000 premature deaths per year in Greater Cairo, approximately 20% of observed mortality. Based on these higher mortality estimates, the economic loss from all damage to human health may range from 5% to 12% of GDP (approximately $2 to $6 billion).2 A comprehensive measure of loss would be even larger, since it also would include damage to buildings and archaeological sites from acidification, agricultural impacts, and visibility impairment."

Individual Solutions
- An air filter with an ionizer built-in, or just an ionizer and install one in each bedroom. You will spend at least 8 hours a day in clean air. If you work in an office you can install one as well.
